- Implement and support Vontobel’s sales strategy in the Asia ex Korea ex Japan region with a secondary focus on Australia/New Zealand.
- Maintain and nurture existing client relationships, working with regional client services professionals to ensure best in class client experiences.
- Position and sell Vontobel’s equity, fixed income, and multi-asset products to institutional clients and prospects in the region. This will involve prioritization of accounts, research, scheduling meetings and initiating discussions with clients and prospects to identify their strategic and tactical goals.
- Coordinate events and sponsorship opportunities to elevate Vontobel brand in the region.
- Partner closely with the broader Asia Pacific team to advance the regional business plan and with the Regional Sales Head to develop strategic opportunities across the region.
- Provide constructive feedback on strategies, market / industry trends and best practices to management, sales and investment management teams.
- Engage internally across the organization to partner with the product, marketing and investment resources of the firm to address the needs of our clients.
- Build positive relationships across the broader global sales organization, investment communications, operations, legal, compliance and other internal teams critical to the end-to-end client lifecycle.
- Ensure that all compliance and legal requirements are met and business is conducted in line with best practice, taking appropriate action where necessary
- Relationship Manager with proven track record in institutional client relationship management and acquisition with at least 5-7 years of asset management sales experience covering Asia-Pacific institutional clients.
- Good knowledge of Asia-Pacific institutional markets, including sovereign wealth funds, central banks, pension funds, corporates and insurance companies. Strong Greater China network a plus.
- Independent, entrepreneurial, client-focused mindset with strong drive and ambition to establish and grow the firm’s business in the region.
- Strong technical investment product knowledge across public and private market asset classes.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Outstanding communication skills in English and Mandarin (verbal and written). Other language abilities a strong plus.
