The purpose of the Research Fellow/Bioinformatician role is to leverage computational tools and methodologies to analyze and interpret complex biological data, particularly in the context of lymphoma studies. The incumbent will be responsible for utilizing programming languages such as Python or R, to develop and implement bioinformatics pipelines that facilitate genomic and proteomic analysis. This role requires proficiency in bioinformatics tools and software, as well as familiarity with databases and data management systems relevant to biological data.The Bioinformatician will apply strong statistical analysis skills and data visualization techniques to translate findings into actionable insights, thereby supporting research objectives and enhancing our understanding of lymphoma. Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities are essential for addressing research challenges, while excellent verbal and written communication skills will enable effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Additionally, experience with high-throughput sequencing data analysis and interpretation is crucial for the successful execution of the role, ensuring that the organization remains at the forefront of innovative research in the field.Your responsibilities will include:- Analyze genomic, transcriptomic, and proteomic data specific to lymphoma using statistical and computational methods. Interpret results to provide insights into lymphoma biology and treatment responses.
- Maintain bioinformatics tools and databases tailored for lymphoma research, ensuring they are user-friendly and meet the specific needs of the lab.
- Work closely with oncologists, hematologists, and other scientists to understand their data needs and provide bioinformatics support specific to lymphoma studies.
- Contribute to scientific publications and reports by providing bioinformatics insights and analyses related to lymphoma studies.
- Assist the Principal Investigator in submission of accurate and timely closeout reporting documents for grants or project updates.Requirements:
- PhD in Bioinformatics or its equivalent.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R.
- Experience with bioinformatics tools and software for genomic and proteomic analysis.
- Familiarity with databases and data management systems relevant to biological data.
- Strong statistical analysis skills and experience with data visualization techniques.
- Ability to interpret complex biological data and translate findings into actionable insights.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to address research challenges in lymphoma studies.
- Experience with high-throughput sequencing data analysis and interpretation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience working in a research lab would be an advantage.
- Good interpersonal, excellent verbal and written communication skills; and comfortable interacting with doctors and other healthcare professionals as well as local/international research collaborators.
