The Climate Transformation Programme (CTP) aims to develop, inspire and accelerate knowledge-based solutions and educate future leaders to establish the stable climate and environment necessary for resilient, just, and sustainable Southeast Asian societies. Climate change is a physical and environmental event with significant psychological impacts becoming more salient. Climate change events constitute a new source of stressors that individuals have to cope with, both psychologically and practically in their daily lives. The purpose of this project is to broaden understanding about the psychological effects of climate change and how climate action could contribute to coping and resilience in individuals. Different research methodologies will be utilized including focus group discussions, longitudinal surveys, and intervention trials. Findings from this project will support translational efforts to promote climate action and psychological health.The Research Fellow will be based at the Earth Observatory of Singapore (EOS) and will engage in research activitiesEOS is a University Research Institute at Nanyang Technological University that conducts fundamental research on earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, and climate change in and around Southeast Asia, towards safer and more sustainable societies. For more information on EOS please visit .Key ResponsibilitiesEngage in extensive scholarly writing (literature reviews, project reports, manuscripts, conference presentations etc.).Conduct a range of statistical analyses, including SEM and longitudinal analyses.Independently propose and execute research agenda based on the project.Organize consultations with overseas collaborators and recruit their involvement at different phases of the project.Implement a range of projects, including large-scale surveys, intervention trials, and qualitative studies.Manage project administrations and logistics, including data management and adherence of IRB procedures.Disseminate research findings through presentations and interactions with students, researchers, and higher education authorities.Engage in training relevant to the project.Supervise research project team members.Engage in research tasks as assigned by the PIKey Competency and Qualifications Requirements:PhD degree from a reputable university in the areas of Clinical, Counseling, School, or Educational Psychology, Public Health, Social Work, or related disciplines.At least 3-5 years of relevant research experience, including scholarly writing, data analyses, and support grant application. Experience in implementing intervention studies and large-scale surveys will be advantageous.Advanced statistical skills in multivariate analyses for intervention and longitudinal dataset.Excellent writing and communication skills.Experience in supervision of students.Scholarly pursuits and interest in research areas such as the following:Psychological aspects of climate changeTheoretical conceptualizations of stress, coping, and resilienceDevelopment and implementation of primary prevention programmes for promoting psychological well-beingPositive work attitudes - independent, efficient, responsible, and responsive to feedbackEOS seeks a diverse and inclusive workforce and is committed to equality of opportunity.
