- Establish initial contacts and introduction with market and regional commercial and client stakeholders
- Be familiar with market practice and establish relationship with key stakeholders
- Reading and understanding all (assigned) Client contract terms and obligations
- Good understanding of all necessary control, compliances for key client contracts
- Establish connections and relationship with Global Commercial Client teams
- Understand WPP Media Trading products, Digital operations & WPP Media Services
- Implement reporting timetable in coordination with Global Commercial team and compiling and submitting reports to Clients and internal stakeholders
- Prepare client commercial reports
- Generate monthly financial and management reports when needed.
- Communicate financial performance and net working capital, identifying risk and opportunities related to client activity.
- Contribute to regional commercial activities, including supporting markets regional consolidation and controls
- Educate and advise local markets and Clients team with an objective to develop a Commercial mindset
- Propose ideas and actions to maximize the profitability of our services and products to Clients in strict compliance and adherence with contract terms
- Build relationships and ensure regular connections with Client procurement teams
- Ensure maintenance of Client contracts and the key contractual terms including timely preparation of their renewals and providing guidance in the drafting of New Client contracts
- Support markets with client compliance audits
- Coordinate market/regional commercial activities in relation to the performance of the (assigned) Client contracts
- Support debt management (ensuring credit insurance is in place) / payment issues / disputes
- Understand market forecasts for all components of Net Sales at each reforecast and be able to explain nets sales movements and profit growth performance vs Forecasts and prior year.
- Lead Commercial and Client contract activities, reporting, renewal, updates, incentives and audits for all (assigned) Clients
- Work closely with procurement teams and follow through to completion/briefing local markets and proactively build and strengthen client/procurement relationships
- Understand the various contributors to market revenue generation, growth levers and profitability
- Establish regular reviews of Client profitability and issue recommendation to markets
- Identify opportunities for revenue streams. Manage with client teams on the scope of work and service levels for various remuneration models
- 6 to 8 years of experience with a proven commercial background in client contracting and negotiations
- Strong commercial acumen in specific areas of Finance and/or Legal
- Ability to lead and deliver results in a highly motivated, demanding environment
- Strong analytical skills with proven ability in interpreting performance trends and taking proactive action
- Good regional experience working across countries and teams
- Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating on daily basis the ability to succinctly communicate with finance and non-finance (client, procurement) and to accommodate language and cultural differences
- Sharp, action-orientated and able to sell ideas convincingly
- Operational / commercial experience must be able to add-value, support / enable / facilitate change
- Highly self-motivated, flexible and possess a high level of initiative. Takes ownership of issues and personal development
- Financial and client commercial management in an advertising environment will be an added advantage
- Experience in influencing senior management & working in fast-paced business is preferred
- Fluency in English and Mandarin is required.
