Our Corporate Partner, Human Capital Leadership Institute is looking for a SM/AVP for Sales and Business DevelopmentThe Human Capital Leadership Institute's (HCLI) mission is to help organisations accelerate leadership development and strategic human capital management capabilities in Asia, for a globalized Asia. The Institute achieves this by driving Pan-Asian industry-relevant research, creating cutting-edge executive development programmes and fostering rich networks between leaders in business, government, academia and consultingEstablished in 2010 with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) and Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB) as strategic partners. Through its unique ability to bring together best-in-class faculty comprising representatives from the public sector, private sector, and academia; the Institute offers thought leadership and insights on understanding Asia, successfully doing business in Asia, and around leadership and human capital strategies for Asia.Roles & ResponsibilitiesReporting to Chief Experience Officer (CXO), who oversees the Client Engagement (CE) Team, this position holder is responsible for managing existing and fostering new clients for HCLI.Key accountabilities include:
  • Expand HCLI's brand in senior business circles via networks, external business conferences, and targeted partnerships to accelerate HCLI's brand.
  • Enhance branding alignment and visibility by showcasing ecosystem partners' commitment by association with HCLI and its mission.
  • Navigate internal structures within large multinational corporate organisations, government agencies and private enterprises to source for funding within various cheque-writing channels
  • Benchmark HCLI for brand penetration, sponsorship/partnership and fundraising development vis-a-via NGOs, Chambers, Conference Organisers, Research and Other Institutes of Higher Learning for which HCLI competes for wallet-share
  • Oversee the implementation of all outreach activities that are targeted at bringing senior leaders on board HCLI programmes
  • Work closely with the programmes team to ensure the fulfilment of all obligations in HCLI's contracts
Experience: Minimum 5 years of commercial and business development experience in Asia with proven track record in revenue generation and growth, preferably in executive education and consulting will be a strong plus.Knowledge & Skills:
  • Commercially result- driven and self-motivated leader with proven track record of meeting ambitious financial targets
  • Highly creative and analytical with good problem-solving skills. Able to get things done in complex social environments
  • Client-centric approach with a proven track record in a customer-facing role, with demonstrated ability to identify, establish and maintain relationships with senior leaders in corporations, government agencies, professional services firms and institutes of higher learning
  • Experience in conducting learning needs analysis and proven ability in designing customised programmes for senior executives, either independently or in partnership with an internal programme development team, that resulted in a high success rate of conversion
  • Highly entrepreneurial and strong business acumen backed by a wide business network in Asia and beyond; experience in consultative selling, key account management
  • Deep knowledge of the Leadership Development field and an interest and understanding of the emerging trends
  • Experience in managing and representing a premium brand such as HCLI to a variety of clients and stakeholders from multinational to privately owned and government organisations
  • Experience working in a multinational/international environment, working across cultures, is an advantage
  • Broad based knowledge of and networks into academics, consultants, business leaders across a range of disciplines from geo-politics, economics and industry is valued
  • Out-going and pro-active personality who enjoys initiating, meeting and working with people
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication skills, presentation skills
  • Strong project planning and coordination skills
  • Prior experience in Leadership / Partner Management is valued
  • Able to adapt easily to new cultural environments, and to communicate with people from a variety of linguistic and educational backgrounds
  • Good written and spoken English
  • Conversant in a second Asian language is a plus
