Job Description Summary As a Quality Inspector, you are responsible for preparation and analysis of metallurgical lab samples, conducting evaluation, mechanical testing, reporting findings of various type of coatings and materials for aircraft engine component repair. From automating processes to leveraging smart factory technologies, robotics, and additive manufacturing, GE Aerospace is shaping the future of aviation at GE Aerospace Engine Services Singapore (GEAESS).GEAESS is our largest site for engine component Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO), responsible for more than 60% of our global repair volume.Role Overview:Comply to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory and Productivity of Metallurgical Lab operationPrepare the sample for mechanical testing such as hardness, tensile strength, and other relevant metricsPrepare the sample for metallurgical evaluation including sectioning, mounting, polishing, grinding and etchingOperate and maintain Metallurgical Lab equipment and ensure its calibration validity.Adhere to laboratory procedures during performing of metallurgical lab operation, maintain general laboratory housekeeping (5S)Perform incoming inspection of controlled material if requiredLiaise with external laboratory or supplier related to metallurgical service (Ensure all external metallurgical service quotation, purchase order and certificate be delivered timely)Good communication skill and able to work with Requestor for metallurgical evaluation and analysisFlexible with working timing and Willingly to work in rotating shift & weekendThe Ideal Candidate:Knowledge in Aerospace, Material science or Mechanical field with experience in laboratory sample preparation and interpretation of microstructureRequired Qualifications:Minimum GCE ‘O’ level and/or with 3 years of relevant experience.
