- Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of GE gas turbine components, ensuring strict adherence to Work Instructions and quality plans.
- Manage the inspection area and maintain an organized workflow of parts.
- Verify proper work clearance and ensure accuracy and completeness of routers, documentation, and records.
- Accurately document and record the incoming condition of parts to support precise workscope determination (Incoming Inspector).
- Ensure all parts meet specification requirements prior to release (Final Inspector).
- Prevent non-conforming parts from advancing to subsequent workstations.
- Support Manufacturing and Quality Engineers during evaluations, audits, and related activities, as required.
- Collect and provide data and feedback regarding the quality of inspected parts to Manufacturing and Quality Engineers.
- The role includes fitter duties and may also involve additional tasks such as assembly, and other operational support as needed.
- Proficiency in visual and dimensional inspection techniques.
- Strong knowledge of measurement tools and equipment (such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, CMM).
- Solid understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Familiarity with quality management systems and documentation practices.
- Ability to identify and report non-conforming parts.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication skills for reporting findings and collaborating with engineering teams.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and recordkeeping.
- Ability to follow written Work Instructions and quality plans.
- Demonstrated teamwork and flexibility to support cross-functional activities.
- Willingness and ability to participate in shift rotation work.
- NITEC certificate or equivalent.
- Technical certification or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Quality Assurance, or a related field is preferred.
- Additional specialized training or certification in inspection techniques (e.g., GD&T, NDT, CMM operation) is an advantage.
