Overview:
We are representing a marine-focused engineering and construction company seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead vessel-related engineering and outfitting projects from planning to delivery. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise in marine systems, strong leadership capabilities, and hands-on experience with ship design and construction standards.Key Responsibilities:
  • Review project specifications and coordinate clarifications with the commercial and design teams.
  • Develop and implement the Project Execution Plan (PEP), including schedules, budgets, and resourcing strategies.
  • Ensure that project milestones are met, deliverables adhere to client specifications, and works are completed within budget.
  • Lead both internal coordination meetings and external client communications to maintain alignment across stakeholders.
  • Conduct internal project kickoff meetings to address pending issues and finalize execution strategy.
  • Collaborate with engineering and design teams on technical deliverables and raise Technical Query Requests (TQRs) for design clarity.
  • Submit Clarification Requests (CRs) for issues arising during site execution and work closely with the commercial team to ensure additional works are captured contractually.
  • Plan manpower requirements in collaboration with operations, and oversee all on-site project activities.
  • Lead the project team effectively, addressing worksite issues and ensuring team cohesion.
  • Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations across the project lifecycle.
  • Evaluate subcontractor and vendor progress claims and validate against work done.
  • Implement strict material and consumables control for ongoing works.
  • Submit regular progress reports to senior management and clients.
  • Coordinate with Quality Assurance for inspection schedules and reports.
  • Conduct ship inspections and participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) when required.
  • Liaise with suppliers to confirm product or service specifications.
  • Attend client meetings to resolve technical or operational issues.
  • Ensure all before-and-after photos are documented in the project folder.
  • Manage project closeout, including submission of final documents and client satisfaction forms.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience managing ship design, marine engineering, or offshore projects.
  • Proven knowledge of vessel detail design, including structural, piping, HVAC, marine electrical, and outfitting systems.
  • Familiar with CAD/CAM tools, AI-based design utilities, and production drawing workflows.
  • Strong understanding of marine classification societies, regulatory standards, and statutory compliance.
  • Skilled in project planning, cost control, and execution management.
  • Proactive, independent, and solution-oriented.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities, especially with cross-discipline engineering teams.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
