
Business Development Specialist, Specifier expansion and support

- Identify and develop a network of new stakeholders within the commercial building industry, including Contractors, Developers, Architects, Technical Consultants, New Tenants and Project Management Consultants.
- Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking sessions to establish connections and build relationships.
- Value Proposition Promotion:
- Clearly articulate and promote the company's value proposition to new commercial customers, demonstrating how our products/services contribute to the Sustainability Goals, and align with their requirements.
- Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to stakeholders.
- Market Research and Analysis:
- Conduct market research to understand trends, competitor offerings, and customer needs within the commercial building segment.
- Use insights to refine sales strategies and tailor offerings to maximize customer appeal.
- Sales Strategy Implementation:
- Execute targeted sales strategies to drive new customer acquisitions and expand market presence.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop sales collateral and campaigns that effectively communicate our offerings.
- Incentive Program Development:
- Design and implement incentive programs aimed at motivating and rewarding new commercial customers for their loyalty and procurement.
- Monitor and assess the effectiveness of incentive programs, making adjustments as needed to improve customer engagement and sales performance.
- Customer Relationship Management:
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales activities, and pipeline management using CRM systems.
- Follow up with leads and prospects to nurture relationships and convert potential opportunities into sales.
- Collaboration with Internal Teams:
- Work closely with channel teams, product management, customer service, and operations teams to ensure customer needs are met and expectations are exceeded.
- Provide feedback from the field to inform product development and service improvements.
- Performance Monitoring:
- Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets as established by sales leadership.
- Prepare regular reports on sales activities, pipeline status, and competitive insights.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
- Experience: 5+ years of sales experience, preferably in the commercial building or construction industry.
- Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with commercial building products, services, and market dynamics.
- Skills:
- Strong networking and interpersonal skills with the ability to build long-lasting relationships.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in CRM software and sales analytics tools.
