What the role is:The Operations Data team under the Operations Planning Division in the Social Support Group (SSP) oversees and leverages data to inform operations policy and optimise operational efficiency. The team also strives to foster a culture that is data-driven, where data literate officers can confidently use data to inform decision-making and improve the lives of vulnerable families.What you will be working on:You will guide the Operations Data team, who: (i) Empowers SSP business units to optimise their data processes and supports operational analytics; (ii) Ensures the data environment serves SSP's needs effectively, e.g., via data architecture; (iii) Undertakes research to understand and address key operations policy/operations gaps; and (iv) Builds SSP officers' data capabilities and fosters a data-driven culture. Responsibilities: You will guide officers in the team to carry out the following responsibilities: (i) Work with business units to understand their data needs, support analysis and implement automation solutions. (ii) Architect and work with business units to maintain data infrastructure that is user-friendly and efficient, including data dictionaries. (iii) Implement a robust data governance strategy and establish standards for data management practices, grounded in SSP's business needs; (iv) Conduct applied research studies/analysis to derive actionable insights; and (v) Oversee and implement data training plans for SSP officers.What we are looking for:Functional/Technical competencies: (i) At least 6 years of work experience, with minimally 2 years of supervisory experience; (ii) At least 4 years of relevant work experience in a data job, including working with and analysing large datasets; (iii) Experience in databasing, data governance and management, and/or using Python (or a related programming language) and data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI), would be an advantage; and (iv) Strong stakeholder engagement skills.
