Job Overview:Our client is a global semiconductor leader and they have engaged Timeo to recruit their Public Affairs Project Officer, based in Singapore (a newly created position). Reporting to the Senior Manager of Public Affairs for Southeast Asia, you will focus on enhancing the organizations profile and reputation among external stakeholders by driving strategic engagements, advocacy campaigns, anticipating trends and creating new opportunities. Your role will involve fostering internal collaboration and coordination, developing and executing action plans, and ensuring effective communication between teams to achieve the goals of the Asia Public Affairs department.This is an individual contributor role.Key Responsibilities:
  • Ecosystem Mapping: Keep an updated stakeholder map of local ecosystems.
  • Government & Stakeholder Relations: Build and sustain relationships with officials and stakeholders, and coordinate strategies to promote the organizations mission (e.g., advocacy, sponsorships, events).
  • Relationship Development: Boost the organizations visibility through new opportunities, regular stakeholder meetings, and an updated Public Affairs contact database.
  • Market Research: Analyze agendas to identify company positioning opportunities.
  • Public Policy: Monitor socio-political environments and policies in operational countries, and create comprehensive political and policy reports.
  • Industry Benchmark: Assess industry local challenges and trends, and perform report benchmarking on competitors’ activities.
  • Storytelling: Craft narratives that showcase the company as an industry leader.
  • Increase Visibility: Enhance company positioning by identifying engagement opportunities and representing the company at various events.
  • Engagement Preparation: Assist in preparing for stakeholder meetings with research and documentation.
  • Public Funding: Lead projects to meet deliverables, increase awareness of funding options, and manage financial tracking for project success.
  • Cross-department Collaboration: Work with Communications for brand consistency, with HR for strategic programs (CSR, DEI, ESG, etc.), and with Finance.
  • Activities Monitoring and Reporting: Assist in tracking and reporting Public Affairs activities to evaluate effectiveness and progress.
Profile Requirements:
  • 4 to 6 years of relevant work experience in government affairs/relations in a multinational company, government agency, or public affairs consulting company.
  • Relevant degree, preferably in political science, economics, public policy, or international relations.
  • Strong understanding and interest in socio-political, government, digital, and financial/economic systems and structures in Southeast Asia.
  • Effective project and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and stakeholders.
  • Proficient in data research, organization, and analysis, with the ability to transform complex data into comprehensive reports and translate them into action.
  • Strong interpersonal and execution skills, with a drive to add value to the business direction.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong attention to detail and proficiency in financial analysis to derive meaning from figures.
  • Skilled in design and storytelling to create appealing presentations.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty, with a hands-on approach to work on new projects.
  • Motivated self-starter, team player, and eager to contribute to the growth of the organization and Public Affairs department.
  • Resourceful with high standards of business ethics.
  • Values consistent with the Companys expectations, including integrity, excellence, and appreciation for diversity.
  • Possess a proactive, positive, and collaborative mindset, coupled with humility.
