Job Title Manager, Client Solutions, S&R, AsiaJob DescriptionThe RoleThe Manager, Client Solutions - Asia, Savings & Retirement will combine technical ability and creativity with strong interpersonal and communication skills as they take on a key role in the execution of ambitious objectives in the Asia region.The role holder will be responsible for supporting and expanding our client and broker relationships across all Asia counterparties, seek out innovative solutions to complex problems across longevity and asset-intensive reinsurance structures across the range of Savings and Retirement products and play a crucial role in the design, development and execution of our longer term strategic objectives both in the Asia region and as part of the wider Savings and Retirement team.Expanding Pacific Life Re’s footprint and delivering growth both in the Asia region is a key strategic objective of the business. In performing their role, the role holder will be expected to support the AVP, Client Solutions, Savings and Retirement, in delivering and executing a strategy and business plan for client relationships and solutions for the Asia market.ResponsibilitiesClient ManagementBuilding strong working relationships with key day-to-day contacts across clients, consultants, brokers and banks, and demonstrating visibility personally and on behalf of PL Re.Fulfil basic functions of client management, including effective preparation and follow-up, effective chairing of meetings, collaboration with team members to ensure consistency of approach across markets.Maintain cultural alignment in approach to client management, acting as partners not suppliers, exercising pragmatism, being creative and solution driven in meeting client needs/objectives.Ensuring regular communication kept open with key contacts through regular catch-ups and multi-disciplinary meetings as necessary.Quote Delivery & StructuringActive ownership of quote process from initial receipt and review through to delivery and follow-up focussing on internal stakeholder management throughout and managing of governance processes.Supporting AVP, Client Solutions in triaging of opportunities, setting quote strategy and proposal of commercial terms.Adopt and promote a solution mindset to commercial problems, co-ordinating the input from subject matter experts with in-depth knowledge of client needs to solve complex propositional challenges.Active involvement in Pricing sign-off process including input of wider market context and providing constructive challenge. Support AVP, Client Solutions in contractual structuring, treaty drafting and negotiation.StrategyKey role in executing on strategy for asset-intensive and longevity reinsurance in the Asia market.Continually develop Client Networking strategy seeking to ensure key client stakeholders across all levels maintain strong connections with relevant individuals at PL Re.Support wider efforts within Line of Business to deliver on S&R workstreams as part of Pacific Life Enterprise strategic objectives over 2025-2030 timeframe (‘Strategy Next’)Qualifications & Experience
  • Strong and relevant technical experience in life (re)insurance, life consultancy or brokerage with minimum of 5yr working experience. Qualified actuary or investment banking professional strongly preferred
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and engage confidently with external clients across diverse cultural and business environments, particularly in the Asia region.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams, manage timelines, and deliver results in a structured and efficient manner.
  • Proficiency in an Asian language is highly preferred; Korean or Japanese are particularly valuable.
  • Foundational understanding of reinsurance structures, with a willingness to develop deeper expertise in asset-intensive solutions and a good working knowledge of pricing and capital frameworks .
  • Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and contribute to client proposals, market analysis, or deal structuring.
  • Commercially minded, with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities and supporting new business initiatives.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
  • Familiarity with risk management principles, internal controls, or governance frameworks is a plus.
