We are seeking a talented and experienced chemist to lead the design, synthesis, and characterization of Redox-active organic molecules (Redox mediators) for application in electrochemical systems. The successful candidate will play a key role in advancing the performance and stability of our redox mediators to support lab scale and pilot scale battery recycling operations.Key Responsibilities:
- Design and synthesize novel redox mediator molecules with desired electrochemical properties, solubility, and stability.
- Optimize synthesis routes for target compounds, with consideration for scalability, yield, and cost-effectiveness.
- Perform purification and structural characterization using NMR, MS, IR, and chromatography techniques.
- Evaluate redox behavior using electrochemical methods (e.g., cyclic voltammetry, chronoamperometry).
- Collaborate with the engineering team to test redox mediator performance in real systems.
- Document all process development, testing, and optimization efforts, and contribute to technical reports and presentations.
2. Strong background in small-molecule synthesis and purification.
3. Experience with redox-active organic compounds is highly desirable.
4. Hands-on experience with electrochemical instrumentation and material characterization techniques such as ICP, XRD, SEM and FTIR.
5. Strong analytical skills and experience in data analysis and interpretation.
6. Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
