The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) trains doctors who put patients at the centre of their exemplary care. The School, which offers both undergraduate and graduate programmes, is named after local philanthropist Tan Sri Dato Lee Kong Chian. Established in 2010 by Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in partnership with Imperial College London, LKCMedicine aims to be a model for innovative medical education and a centre for transformative research. The School’s primary clinical partner is the National Healthcare Group, a leader in public healthcare recognised for the quality of its medical expertise, facilities and teaching. The School is transitioning to an NTU medical school ahead of the 2028 successful conclusion of the NTU-Imperial partnership to set up a Joint Medical School. In August 2024, we welcomed our first intake of the NTU MBBS programme, that has been recently enhanced to include themes like precision medicine and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare, with an expanded scope in the medical humanities. Graduates from the five-year undergraduate medical degree programme will have a strong understanding of the scientific basis of medicine, with an emphasis on technology, data science and the humanities.The Assistant Director, Student Progress, supports Vice-Dean (Education) in administering processes and policies concerning student progress at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. This position reports to Director, Education Management. The post holder is required to ensure that efficient and robust systems and data handling mechanisms are in place for monitoring student academic and professionalism concerns as well as student well-being.Responsibilities:Oversee arrangement of student diagnostic meetings with faculty and House TutorEnsure accurate and timely recording of notes of diagnostic meetingsManage action plans arising from decisions taken at diagnostic meetingsPrepare report of diagnostic meetings for presentation at working groups and committeesSecretariat for Student Progress meetings including: Academic, Professionalism and Wellbeing Monitoring Group; and Student Progress CommitteeAssist in secretariat duties for Medical Education Committee and Academic Affairs CommitteeConsolidate Education agenda items and papers for School Management Board meetingConsolidate and prepare reports to the University Wellbeing OfficeReview and renew policies in relation to student progressWork with Fitness to Practise (FtP) Panel Clerk in organising FtP panel hearingsKeep track of action items and conditions in post-FtP panel monitoring and post-Interruption of Studies programmesLiaise with NTU’s Board of Discipline Secretariat in convening Committees of Inquiry (COI) and preparing COI reportsManage the administration of medical assessments of fitness to studyManage the Conscientiousness Honesty Engagement Respect Integrity (CHERI) Framework including issuance of advisories to students with concernsContribute as a team lead in Education Management department through identifying areas of improvement in work flows, culture, and processesCoach and mentor Student Progress teamRequirements:Bachelor’s degree preferably in English Language, Psychology, Social Studies, Communication or BusinessAt least eight years’ experience, prior experience in higher education or healthcare advantageousExcellent written and oral communication skillsProficient in basic quantitative data analysisWell-organised, resourceful and resilientWe regret to inform that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.Hiring Institution: LKC
