- Managing backend operations within the DO workspace.
- Assisting with walk-in inquiries under the No Wrong Door policy, such as membership registration, account and collection matters, program inquiries, e-resources and e-books, NLB Mobile app, PressReader, Libby, Overdrive Wireless@SGX.
- Acknowledging and repairing slightly damaged items when patrons insist on borrowing them.
- Handling lost and found items, including personal belongings, school/personal books, and both valuable and non-valuable items found in the library.
- Issuing collateral for services and handling redemption processes.
- Managing incidents and responding to fire alarms when necessary.
- Troubleshooting and replenishing Book Bug cards as needed.
- Addressing inquiries and feedback related to the Seat Booking System.
- Assisting Roving Officers with second-level inquiries, lost child situations, and other duties.
- Managing DIYREAD@Community tasks, including membership inquiries and collection of membership cards.
- Conduct briefings for new volunteers, introducing them to the volunteer-run space and demonstrating tasks such as shelfreading, shelving, and straightening.
- Depending on the number of volunteers (less than 5 or 6-10), briefings typically take approximately 15 minutes or 30 minutes, respectively, and may occur every 1-3 hours.
- Monitor volunteers' activities and report any issues or incorrect tasks to LOs (Library Officers).
- Address volunteers' feedback at the end of each shift, which may include concerns about shelf organisation during school holidays or feedback on volunteer behaviour.
- Assist in processing various backend logistics.
- Manage key movements for vendors and maintain visitor logs.
- Handle and acknowledge deliveries.
- Answer calls and operate intercom systems.
- Monitor branch environment and operations via CCTV for smooth functioning.
- Make public announcements as necessary.
- Monitor and troubleshoot systems such as BBS, MMS, catalogues, reservation locker, auto sorter, Tumblebooks.
- Handle items received for Legal Deposit.
- Conduct housekeeping checks, including putting up new posters and replacing outdated ones.
- Conduct building checks and report any faults identified.
