What the role is:Open Digital Platform is where various smart technologies such as facilities management, security, and autonomous goods delivery systems integrates as one. It is used to power many of our Smart districts project such as the Punggol Digital District and various other initiatives We want someone to work with us on the brains of the whole ODP platform and to develop new features for other developers to create their features easier. We are looking for an intern to join our team and work on IoT solutions involving, but not limited to, ARM-based microcontrollers. The ideal candidate will have some experience with these technologies through projects, as well as knowledge of general-purpose programming languages like Java, Python, or C++. Some knowledge of electronics would also be beneficial.What you will be working on:1. Collaborate with the team to develop proof-of-concept IoT solutions using ARM-based microcontrollers like Raspberry Pi, NVIDIA Jetson Nano, Arduino, etc. 2. Assist in the design and implementation of software applications and firmware for IoT devices. 3. Conduct research and experimentation to explore new IoT technologies and their potential applications. 4. Integrate sensors, actuators, and other electronic components with microcontrollers to build functional prototypes. 5. Write clean, well-documented, and efficient code while adhering to coding standards and best practices. 6. Conduct thorough testing and debugging of IoT solutions to ensure functionality and reliability. 7. Provide support in integration testing of systems 8. Write scripts for testing and automationWhat we are looking for:a. Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field b. Familiarity with ARM-based microcontrollers, such as Raspberry Pi, NVIDIA Jetson Nano, or Arduino c. Experience with general-purpose programming languages, such as Java, Python, or C++ d. Experience with commonly-used industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, MQTT, EtherCAT, REST d. Knowledge of electronics and familiarity with common electronic components and sensors used in IoT applications e. Knowledge on IEC61131 languages is a plus g. Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or a related field. h.
