Finance Executive (GL) - $4,000 / Central

• General Ledger:

• Undertake month-end closing tasks, encompassing activities like closing/opening accounting periods, setting up foreign exchange rates, and more.
• Ensure timely processing of all required journal entries.
• Calculate revenue accurately for various departments such as Logistics, Technology, Mobility, Procurement, and Navy.
• Assist in verifying and reconciling intercompany transactions versus the Balance with Legal Head Office (BLAHO).
• Post agency transactions and ensure timely reporting.

• Management Reporting:

• Compile monthly management reports, covering Trial Balances, Balance Sheets, Profit & Loss statements, and others.
• Assist in analyzing financial data and variances across various reports.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet schedules and reconcile assigned accounts.
• Provide comprehensive explanations, calculations, and supporting documentation for all reconciliations.
• Ensure timely resolution of all reconciling items.
• Aid the Line manager in the month-end process.
• Assist in annual budgeting and regular forecast reporting.
• Provide support for Accounts Payable/Receivable functions if required.

• Process Improvement and Cross-Functional Initiatives:

• Identify and communicate any process deficiencies or weaknesses in accounting controls discovered during reconciliation processes to the supervisor.
• Collaborate with other departments to understand, review, and enhance financial operations workflows.
• Respond to requests from other departments by offering financial information and insights for better understanding of the numbers.

• Local Statutory Reporting:

• Assist in the annual external audit process and collaborate closely with external auditors.
• Provide support for annual corporate tax filing.
• Prepare and submit GST (Goods and Services Tax) returns.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• At least 1 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the Shipping or Logistic industry.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and credibility with internal and external stakeholders.
• Familiar with local tax and regulatory compliance.
• Knowledge of SAGE accounting will be an added advantage
