- Alternative Specialist Group within the Client Coverage Division (“CCD”) of DWS is a globally coordinated team based in 12 offices across 9 countries and currently stands at a strength of 40 staff. The Head of Alternative Specialist in each region reports to the regional head with a global coordination pursued by the Alternative Specialists Global Head. The Head of Alternative Specialist, APAC reports to the Head of Client Coverage, APAC to deliver against our business plans for alternative distribution and capital raise in the region.
- Alternative Specialist is the dedicated sales, distribution, and investor relations group within the CCD for the Alternative asset class offerings structured and launched by the Product division and managed by the Investment Division. The Alternative asset class offerings include Real Estate, Infrastructure, Private Debt, and Liquid Real Assets. The group works closely with the sales generalists and other specialized teams (such as Insurance, Client Relations, Institutional, Private Banking, and Retail) within CCD to ensure the delivery of quality solutions to our clients who want to invest into Alternatives.
- Alternatives Specialist in Southeast Asia will work together with the overall illiquid Alternatives Specialists in APAC and on some occasions with global teammates. This professional will have a direct reporting line to, Head of Alternatives Specialists, APAC, and dotted local reporting line to Head of Southeast Asia Coverage.
- As a Coverage and Product professional, you will distribute private real asset products/strategies to institutional investors as well as distributors / strategic partners in Southeast Asia – working together with CCD coverage generalists. The key client coverage market will be Singapore and Malaysia, followed by Thailand, Philippines, and Indonesia. Close cooperation with CCD teams in the region, e.g., via joint customer visits and contacts, as well as product training courses. Support organizing/coordinating sales activities, such as roadshows, portfolio manager meetings, and marketing documents.
- Interface with various stakeholders within DWS, such as portfolio management, institutional and retail sales, product development, product management, marketing, consultant relations, compliance. Communicate cross border and build productive working relationships.
- Support the team in creating/updating marketing materials and other relevant information, a product strategy in the responsible segments and implementation.
- Independent processing and support in the analysis of customer potentials as well as the support of product initiatives together with the respective portfolio management teams.
- Provide presentations to management and internal and external clients
- Maintain databases on key strategies and product inventories.
- Develop and maintain competitor performance data.
- Integration into administrative sales and reporting processes (reporting, CRM processes, etc.)
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and integrity; being an ambassador of our firm’s values
- Bachelor’s degree, in finance related fields, with a proven academic performance
- 6 + years of experience in sales or investment capacity, with exposure to private real asset products/strategies – especially real estate. Strong knowledge of Malaysia market
- Ability to quickly learn and articulate alternative products/strategies
- Prior experiences in fund raising activities preparing, updating, and presenting marketing materials to potential investors
- Built relationship with and worked with institutional client community such as pension funds, insurers, endowments, sovereign wealth funds, and asset managers
- Sales-oriented, highly self-motivated, and good time management skills
- Strong team player with exceptional interpersonal skills, ability to build trust with internal (such as portfolio managers and sales generalists) and external stakeholders, with good communication and client-oriented mindset
- Strong organizational skills, and attention to detail as a product champion for ACREF and in handling multiple projects for distribution
- Strong networking, initiative thinking and strategic planning experience
