Role
  • Lead and manage the company's customs compliance programs, methods, and frameworks to ensure all international trade regulations are met.
  • Drive the implementation of the central team's import/export compliance program for the region.
  • Lead improvement initiatives to enhance customs processes and systems for greater efficiency.
  • Implement effective entry review and post-audit programs to identify and correct issues.
  • Proactively plan all customs compliance activities, identify early warning alerts, and mitigate potential trade compliance and financial risks.
  • Work closely with other stakeholders to address customs-related topics.
  • Provide strategic direction to colleagues in logistics and supply chain to ensure company-wide compliance with customs regulations and training requirements.
  • Define regulatory requirements for customs brokers and monitor their performance to ensure they consistently adhere to both regulations and company standards.
  • Ensure correct import/export classifications and proper record-keeping.
  • Conduct regular training sessions on customs topics to maintain continuous compliance.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for the region, ensuring customs policies and workflows are aligned with global teams in Europe and America, and with corporate guidelines.
  • Maintain proper records and documentation.
  • Develop business workflows to optimize efficiency.
  • Perform other duties as required by the Head of Finance for Asia.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of international trade compliance experience.
  • Strong knowledge of customs compliance and operational systems, such as SAP.
  • Experience in customs clearance within the aerospace or manufacturing industry is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Asian governmental regulations pertaining to customs and logistics is required.
  • Knowledge of Middle Eastern customs regulations is an added advantage.
  • Willing to cover shifts ensuring the department is always staffed during business hours.
