Structuring is a small, collaborative team which encourages individuals to have autonomy and key responsibilities from the startThe team is looking for someone who has some experience working within a Markets environment (Structuring, Sales, Trading), and with some experience in either FX, Rates or Credit derivatives.The Structuring team within SCB is an integral part of Markets, driving non-flow and episodic transactions. - Structuring provides global coverage of the full spectrum of derivative products (from vanilla to exotic), through our network of product specialists located in Hong Kong, China, Singapore, India, Korea, UK, New York and U.A.E.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for facilitating FX, Interest Rate and Credit derivative trades in the Bank through idea generation, pricing, new trade set up, automation etc.
- The candidate will be required to work closely with Sales in providing optimal derivative solutions for our clients' requirements, and will need to see these transactions through to execution by working closely with Trading, XVA, Legal, Risk Functions etc. to ensure accurate pricing and risk management of all solutions delivered
- Structuring works closely with Legal and Compliance to ensure proper documentation and compliance with local regulations in the jurisdictions that we deal in. The individual will be responsible for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
- Risk Management is a key responsibility of Structuring, and the team needs to be well versed and adhere to all Group Policies and relevant legislations covering credit, market risk, operational, reputational risk among others. The individual will be responsible for raising appropriate flags to respective risk heads as and when concerns or weaknesses are spotted and speak up / suggest improvements if warranted
- Structurers are highly involved in Sales Internal training as well as seminars/training sessions offered to SCB customers. The individual will also be required to support and train any junior structurers and/or International Graduates that join the ASEAN structuring team going forward
- Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
- The team is also involved with Quants in model testing/calibration and platform development
- The individual will be expected to work seamlessly with key stakeholders, including Sales, Trading, Banking, Legal, Credit Risk, Market Risk, Quants and Compliance
- Embed Here for good and Group's brand and values in Singapore Structuring team. Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures; Multiple functions (double hats)
- 2+ years of experience in Markets or working with Derivatives
- The candidate should have experience in providing derivative solutions for Corporate clients and/or Financial Institutions in a Structuring, Sales or Trading role.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for facilitating trades in FX, Interest Rate, and Credit derivatives and should display a strong understanding of these products
- Must possess strong technical skills, good attention to detail and experience in pricing derivatives transactions. Track record in idea generation, sales, and external client training is beneficial.
- Global Network & Collaboration: The ability to collaborate with product specialists in key financial hubs is important
- Systems Proficiency: Experience with the calibration or testing of systems used for derivative trading is beneficial
