Your RoleLead all Health, Safety, Environment, Security (HSES) initiatives to support the country business operations and its activities. Drive and maintain all HSES systems; developing and implementing HSES processes that ensure the highest standards are met and aligned to Brenntag’s HSES framework. Ensuring legal compliance, promoting strong HSES culture via various engagement platforms and continuously improving performance for all sites being in charge.Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversees the daily management of HSES activities for all supervising sites including developing and implementing safety initiatives. Ensuring the highest safety standards are met and aligned to the Company’s strategic goals as well as driving proactive safety culture within the business.
  • Working with regional HSES team to ensure regional initiatives are integrated locally at all supervising sites. Develop HSES platforms and manage to best practice standards.
  • Deliver process improvement initiatives which support and drive cultural change.
  • Carry out data collection and analysis for process mapping and workflow.
  • Drive and improve process workflow to ensure all required documentation is established and communicated.
  • Be the active driver in delivering process improvements which encourage cross functional engagement and drives customer satisfaction within the functions.
  • Plan, execute, measure, evaluate, monitor and control HSES processes for business operations
  • Introduce innovation into HSE processes that can improve results and support in achieving our strategic business objectives.
  • Facilitate any process improvement programs to continuously improve site HSES competency.
  • Oversees the HSES functions ensuring all business activities are conducted with all applicable legal and Company HSES requirements met.
  • Carry out professional measuring and monitoring as well as providing feedback on performance of business processes.
  • Consult and collaborate with regional HSES to achieve Brenntag Global HSES standards and objectives, integrating global requirements into local HSES systems.
  • Drive and promote strong safety culture with the sites; constantly engaging with the site employees with regular communication.
  • Work cohesively with internal/external stakeholders ensuring the required HSES culture is achieved and maintained.
Task specifics
  • Manage and maintain country / site HSES Management Systems and conform to all local legal requirements and regional / global standards
  • Ensure all site employees are aware of the HSES reporting requirements and the applicable HSES rules and regulations
  • Prepare and submit monthly HSES reports as required by the Company.
  • Manage all non-conformances as accordingly to the required standards and lead / facilitate investigation to arrest and address the issues.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of all applicable legal and company HSES requirements. Ensure all relevant stakeholders are kept aware via proper communication means.
  • Carry out monthly HSES Committee meetings and site inspections, encouraging and improving employee participation.
  • Develop the required HSES competencies across all functions and levels.
  • Ensure safe work practices are implemented for all activities including internal / external parties.
  • Establish HSES plans for implementation to meet the Global / Regional HSES objectives.
  • Ensure all applicable global / regional requirements are integrated into the local operations and work activities.

Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualifications in HSES, manufacturing, engineering, or technical discipline preferred.
  • Minimum 10+ years’ relevant experience in a HSES leadership role with a demonstrated understanding of site operations and legal compliance.
  • Experience in leading multi-faceted business improvement projects and experience in implementing continuous improvement methodologies and tools.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of HSES best practices and local legislatives requirements
  • Working knowledge/experience in chemical manufacturing / distribution / manufacturing industry or similar fields.
