- Managing the day-to-day technical operations of assigned vessels, including maintenance, repairs, inspections, and surveys.
- Coordinating with vendors, operations, and commercial teams to ensure vessels' technical and operational readiness, including performance monitoring.
- Reviewing repair quotations, assessing dry-docking requirements, selecting shipyards, and preparing budget proposals for senior management approval.
- Attending dry-docking, repairs, and surveys when required, and defining repair specifications.
- Preparing post-docking evaluation reports covering completed works, budgets, and actual expenditures.
- Procuring technical and operational supplies at competitive rates to ensure best value.
- Monitoring vessel technical status in relation to class certification and survey requirements.
- Overseeing the Planned Maintenance System (PMS) to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Maintaining and documenting all statutory, class, and equipment certificates.
- Providing technical support, guidance, and troubleshooting assistance to vessels.
- Conducting monthly reviews of vessel logs and inspections.
- Supervising contractors carrying out vessel maintenance and repair.
- Managing budgets and controlling costs related to spares, repairs, and docking.
- Performing technical compliance audits and investigating equipment defects/failures to ensure standards are met.
- Collaborating with the HSE team to support implementation of QHSE systems and policies.
- Reviewing codes, guidelines, and standards to ensure compliance with Quality & Safety Management requirements.
- Promoting a strong safety culture to maintain zero loss-time incidents and reporting all accidents or near misses.
- Reporting directly to the Technical Fleet Management Department, with a matrix line to the Business Unit Manager.
- Handling any additional technical assignments as required.
- Must have seagoing experience as Chief Engineer or Second Engineer on offshore vessels.
- Possess Class 1 or Class 2 COC; DP Maintenance and High Voltage certificates are required.
- Minimum Class 2 certification or equivalent, with proven experience on Offshore Supply Vessels. Experience with DP vessels is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of Classification Rules and, ideally, Saudi Aramco requirements.
- Skilled at diagnosing technical issues, identifying root causes, and executing recovery plans.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to build effective relationships with internal teams and external partners.
- Hands-on, well-organized, and an effective communicator.
- Independent, resourceful, and able to perform under pressure while meeting deadlines.
- Proactive, analytical, and effective in technical troubleshooting and problem solving.
- Capable of delivering stand-up training sessions for vessel crews.
- Willingness and ability to travel at short notice.
