Postdoc Research Fellow - VR/AR and Large Language Model for Pilot Simulation Training

- Conduct research on the application of VR/AR and Large Language Models in pilot simulation training, aiming to enhance realism, interactivity, and instructional effectiveness.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, data scientists, and aviation experts to define research objectives and develop innovative approaches for integrating VR/AR and LLM technologies into pilot training simulations.
- Design and develop VR/AR-based training environments that utilize LLMs to generate dynamic and realistic dialogue interactions for pilot-instructor communication, scenario-based training, and decision-making exercises.
- Conduct usability studies. Collect and analyze data from VR/AR simulations and pilot training scenarios to evaluate the effectiveness and performance of the simulation modalities.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior researchers, graduate and undergraduate students, or research assistants. Publish research findings in prestigious journals and present at conferences and industry events to contribute to the scientific community and promote advancements in VR/AR, LLMs and pilot simulation training.
- Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering or a related field, with a focus on VR/AR, Natural Language Processing, or Human-Computer Interaction.
- Strong background and research experience in VR/AR, Large Language Models, or related fields, demonstrated through high-quality publications in reputable conferences or journals.
- Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in VR/AR and LLM research, such as Python, C++/C#, or Unity.
- Experience with VR/AR hardware and software platforms.
- Familiarity with state-of-the-art Large Language Models, such as GPT-4 or similar architectures, and their applications in natural language processing tasks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey research findings and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
