We welcome applications from all and recruit on the basis of merit, regardless of age, race, gender, religion, marital status and family responsibilities, or disability.The NTU theoretical and computational plasma physics group is seeking to hire a research fellow to work on the simulation of energetic-particle-driven instabilities in fusion plasmas.Key Responsibilities:Understand the role of energetic particles and resonant magnetic perturbations in plasma instabilitiesPerform numerical simulations of energetic-particle-driven instabilities using a plasma simulation codeBenchmark the result with standard cases and literatureAnalyze the data and draw a relationship. Conduct a parameter scan to quantify the relationship.Derive a reduced model for physical understanding or compare to experimental dataJob Requirements:Ph.D. in plasma physics, computational mathematics, or other related fieldsResearch experience in plasma physics and/or numerical simulationStrong track record in terms of publicationsExperience in high-performance computing is favourableWe regret to inform that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.Hiring Institution: NTU
