Underwriting Intern

- Assist underwriters in day-to-day tasks, including evaluating and analysing risks, for both new and renewal accounts of Property and Power
- Compare year-on year changes in risk profile, as well as underwriting terms and conditions
- Perform benchmarking analysis, by occupancies and countries
- Review contract wordings per SCOR Underwriting Guidelines
- Ensure contract details are accurately entered in SCOR Underwriting Platform
- Conduct research on markets, segments or industries for business development potential
- Other duties and/or projects as assigned
- Curiosity; strong desire to develop knowledge in (re)insurance industry, particularly in the field of underwriting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Resilient, adaptable, and comfortable in working under pressure and uncertainty
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Fast learner, self-motivated, proactive and committed
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- International minded, ideally from overseas experiences such as exchange semester, OCIP, overseas internship, etc.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Prior internships or working experiences in insurance or underwriting considered a plus, but not required
- Currently pursuing Bachelor's or Master's Degree in relevant disciplines (e.g. Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, etc.), preferably in the final or penultimate year of study
- Minimum commitment period of 6 months from June 2024 onwards; Potential continuation of internship on part-time basis (e.g. 3 days per week) can be arranged for suitable candidates
