The selected candidate will provide support to the Principal Investigator and the team in terms of research, laboratory and administrative needsYou may refer to for more information on Prof Chng's research.Interested applicants should include the following documents in the job applicationCurriculum Vitae (CV)Summary of past research experienceDescription of long-term plansAt least 2 referees including their name, contact information (email) and relationship to applicantJob DescriptionResearch:Carry out assigned experimentsOrganize, preserve and present the results of the experiments in a logical mannerRecord all assigned experiments and results properly and systematicallyAnalyze and plan further experiments under guidanceAssist in supervising, training and guiding attachment/undergraduate students where requiredLaboratory:To plan and ensure the needs and requirements of the team in terms of consumablesEnsure that the lab is adequately stocked with clean glassware, minor equipment, chemicals, etc. required for experimentsRegular checks and maintenance of equipmentAssemble reagents, chemicals and media that are needed for experimentsEnsure that standard operating procedures and safety regulations are followedAdministrative duties:Plan and ensure that the overall lab administrative needs of the team are metAssist the Principal Investigator in tracking his/her grants and other sources of fundingProcurement of necessary equipment, chemicals, reagents as required by the lab or projectMaintaining a systematic and proper record of all purchasesLiaise with vendors and the administrative office to ensure proper purchase requisitions, goods delivery and prompt payment of suppliesAny other ad hoc duties as requiredQualificationsAt least Diploma in Genomics, Molecular Biology or in any related fieldTeam player and willing to learnKnowledgeable in laboratory scientific resource material; laboratory equipment and its care.Knowledgeable in methods of scientific research and relevant scientific theories.Knowledgeable in basic principles, terminologies, practices used in cancer biology, examination of clinical and animal samples.Adhere to Government guidelines and regulations pertinent to laboratory safety and security and IRB, OSHE & IACUC regulationsPackaging and shipping of diagnostic, infectious and hazardous materials.Appropriate computer operations, software and peripherals.Ability to perform laboratory tests
