Research Assistant (Cancer and Public Health)

- Assist with the administration and management of research projects, including coordinating the research team's meetings and activities and preparing the research ethics application.
- Conduct research fieldwork, including recruiting participants, coordinating interview schedules, administering informed consent forms, conducting qualitative interviews and transcribing interviews verbatim.
- Conduct qualitative data analysis, and work with the research team in preparing research reports/manuscripts.
- Excellent academic writing and communication skills in English.
- Experience of successfully managing multiple tasks concurrently.
- Some qualitative research skills and experience, including at least some experience with conducting semi-structured interviews and/or analysing qualitative data and interest in learning how to conduct socio-behavioural research in cancer care.
- Highly organized and able to work effectively under pressure, use independent judgement, produce high-quality quality work, and problem solve within time constraints.
- Able to work independently as well as with a team.
- Degree or relevant experience in social science methodology or health care.
- Experience with Atlas.ai/NVivo and R or similar software to manage qualitative data or the interest to learn.
- Experience in conducting qualitative interviews.
- Able to speak Mandarin/Chinese dialects or Malay/Tamil is an advantage as some research participants may only speak their mother tongue.
- Bachelor's Degree in a social science or health discipline.
