Job Description:We are the exclusive recruiter for this role.Our client is a global leader in IoT connectivity solutions that has worked with many of the world's largest companies to unlock value through connected technologies. Driving innovation, our client also a strong ecosystem of channel partners, communication service providers and direct sales organisations enabling it to offer an extensive IoT technology stack throughout the world.Headquartered in the US, this is a fantastic opportunity to be the company's first lawyer in Asia covering the APAC region supporting projects spanning a broad range of sectors including retail, healthcare, transportation, connected vehicles and energy.Key responsibilities:You will be the sole, lead commercial lawyer in Asia and in a senior leadership role, working closely with different business units to support all legal and compliance needs in the APAC region including:

reviewing and negotiating technology contracts, vendor contracts, a range of commercial agreements and NDAs;
updating legal documents for the sale and delivery of SaaS products;
working closely with business teams in the region and internationally; and
advising on corporate governance requirements and corporate secretarial matters with paralegal support.

Candidate requirements:You will be a self-motivated, proactive, detail-oriented lawyer, who is comfortable working independently in a small but growing office. You will be part of a complex and dynamic business that is breaking new ground in many ways. Our client will be looking for a "can-do" attitude and a business-partnering mindset that proactively seeks to identify and resolve problems.Other key requirements include:

Law degree or J.D. from a reputable university;
Admission to practice law in Singapore, other Commonwealth jurisdiction or the US;
At least 8 years of experience as a practising lawyer, preferably with at least a couple of years of in-house experience at a technology company;
Strong commercial contracts experience, including experience negotiating and drafting technology contracts. Experience of SaaS agreements will be helpful;
Passionate about the IoT industry and enjoys working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment;
Comfortable working globally across cultures and different time zones;
Being a confident and clear communicator, able to work with people at all levels throughout the organisation including senior stakeholders.
