With billions of videos viewed and more than 1 billion words translated, Viki brings global entertainment to fans everywhere!As a Senior UX Designer on the Viki Design team, you will own projects and drive them from start to finish by working closely with other designers and partners. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including but not limited to marketing, product development and engineering to ensure alignment with brand guidelines, project goals, and user experience objectives. This role requires exceptional design skills, strong leadership abilities, and a keen eye for detail.Based in Singapore, this role reports to the UX Manager on the Identity and Growth & Monetisation team. This role demands high-quality, attention to detail and independently taking ownership of projects ranging from payment to user identity. The role also requires high collaboration with internal and external partners. Everything you touch will go out to the world serving millions of people and amongst dozens of Viki’s product and service offerings.Responsibilities:Partner and collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive design direction and innovation in payments, monetisation, profile and account management domains.Lead brainstorming sessions and design reviews to foster innovation and maintain design excellence across projects.Engage with PM, data, content strategy and research partners regularly to build alignment and define/share design direction that is scalable.Create detailed specs, documentation, logic covering edge cases, and rules for a variety of use cases.Own design QA process across design and engineering teams to assure design quality by auditing component implementation during development.Champion Figma and advocate for adopting design system.Contribute to the broader design team by sharing best practices and collaborating on UX initiatives.Define the "hows and whats" to measure the business impact of a projectAbility to quickly learn, adapt, grow and influence cross-functional teams.Mentor and provide support to junior designers.Requirements:6+ years of experience in UX design and product strategy.Knowledge of platform-specific (web/mobile) UI patterns and behaviours.Attention to detail and strong visual design skills are reflected in a portfolio of recent work.Ability to work effectively and cross-functionally with other teams (Research, Content, Engineering, Product Management).Passion for building highly scalable solutions and services.Experience with iterative development and engineering processes.Working knowledge of Asana, Jira and proficiency in design tools like Figma.Growth mindset with a desire to continuously learn and adapt.Ability to manage multiple product initiatives.Good interpersonal skills.Preferred Qualifications:Experience working with payment systems.Experience in streaming platforms or social apps is a plus.Design thinking and driving collaboration and workshops.Previous work experience in a consumer-focused tech organization.Excellent project management skills, proactive with own deadlines, scheduling, etc.What success looks like for this role:After 3 months: You have integrated well with the team and have grasped domain specific knowledge and have understood Viki’s design principles and workflows.After 6 months: You have taken UX ownership of your projects and built confidence across your cross functional team.After 12 months: You have worked on multiple projects and have helped monetisation and Identity teams to deliver business goals successfully.Rakuten is an equal opportunity employer.
