• Strategic Partnerships: Scout for and identify potential technology companies for strategic collaborations, focusing on UAV and aerospace technologies. Establish and nurture partnerships that align with the organization's long-term objectives.
• Prototype Development Oversight: Oversee the development of UAV prototypes, ensuring the design, functionality, and performance meet organizational goals and align with industry standards.
• Technology Scouting: Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and new players in the UAV and aerospace space. Identify cutting-edge solutions that can drive innovation and competitive advantage for the organization.
• Internal Collaboration: Work closely with internal business units (e.g., product development, marketing, operations, R&D) to ensure alignment of UAV projects with organizational goals and market needs. Act as a bridge between technical and business teams to ensure seamless communication and project execution.
• Project Management: Independently manage UAV development projects, including prototype design, testing, and refinement. Ensure timely delivery of milestones and maintain high standards for quality and performance.
• R&D Leadership: Lead the R&D efforts to conceptualize new UAV technologies, systems, and capabilities. Guide internal teams and external collaborators in prototyping and testing new systems.
• Collaborative Exploration: Collaborate with external technical teams, universities, and research organizations to stay updated on technological advances and find opportunities for research and co-development.
• Technology Roadmap Development: Develop and maintain a roadmap for UAV system advancements, identifying critical technologies to explore and implement over the short and long term.
• Risk & Challenge Management: Proactively identify challenges in UAV system development and develop strategies to overcome technical and operational barriers.
• Industry Representation: Represent the organization at UAV industry events, conferences, and technical forums to stay connected with the broader community and identify potential collaboration or business opportunities.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain clear documentation of all research, development, and testing efforts, and provide regular updates to senior management on progress and opportunities.

• Knowledge in Aerospace Engineering / Robotics / Computer Science or related technical field.
• Possess 7 years' experience in UAV system development, with a strong background in aerospace engineering or UAV technology. At least 3 years of experience in a leadership or independent role focused on project oversight or business development.
• Deep knowledge of UAV systems, flight control, sensors, and autonomous technologies.
• Proven experience in developing UAV prototypes, from concept to deployment.
• Familiarity with aerospace regulations and safety standards.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, or similar.
• Strong ability to identify potential business partnerships, including with tech companies and research organizations.
• Experience in forming and managing strategic partnerships and collaborations.
• Knowledge of emerging UAV technologies and trends in the aerospace industry.
• Experience with advanced UAV technologies like autonomy, AI/ML for UAVs, or autonomous swarming systems.
• Background in scouting and evaluating new technologies for integration into UAV systems.
• Familiarity with managing UAV projects in a startup or independent capacity, with limited supervision.
• Experience working with government agencies, defense contractors, or private enterprises in the aerospace field.
• Strong independent working skills with a proactive mindset.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills to foster collaborations and partnerships, both internal and external.
• Ability to bridge the gap between technical and business teams, ensuring alignment on project goals.
• High level of technical acumen and the ability to assess and adopt new technologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills to address challenges in UAV and aerospace systems development.
• Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of projects with minimal supervision.
