POSITION OVERVIEW:The Business Development Manager for Ocean Freight Reefer & Bulk Liquid Logistics, SG & MY is responsible for developing and executing sales strategies to drive revenue growth across a broad portfolio of logistics services, including Ocean Freight, Reefer, Flexi-Tank, ISO Tank (Food Grade, Chemical Grade and Hazardous Grade), Cryogenic Tank, and value-added end-to-end services such as disposal at destination, cleaning, and specialized handling. The role requires strong leadership, business development, entrepreneurship and account management skills, as well as an in-depth understanding of complex logistics operations. The Business Development Manager will lead a sales team to manage key customer accounts, identify new business opportunities, and deliver tailored logistics solutions that meet customer requirements while achieving the company’s financial goals.IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets and expand market share across all bulk liquid logistics services.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the bulk liquid logistics market.
  • Manage a portfolio of key accounts, ensuring long-term relationships and a deep understanding of each customer’s logistics needs.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for customer concerns, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels within customer organizations.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of sales executives and account managers
  • Monitor and track sales performance metrics, making data-driven adjustments to sales strategies as needed
  • Develop pricing strategies for complex logistics solutions, including Ocean Freight, Flexi-Tank, ISO Tank, Cryogenic Tank, and value-added services.
  • Oversee the delivery of end-to-end logistics services, including transportation, warehousing, Flexi-Tank disposal, ISO Tank cleaning, and specialized handling for hazardous and cryogenic materials.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions and optimize service delivery.
  • Identify and address any gaps in revenue or profitability, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Conduct research to stay informed about industry developments, competitor activities, and market trends
  • Provide strategic input on new market opportunities, service expansions, and business development initiatives.
  • Perform any other assigned duties
YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING QUALITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • In-depth knowledge of bulk liquid logistics, including Ocean Freight, Flexi-Tank, ISO Tank (Food Grade and Dangerous Goods), and Cryogenic Tank operations.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management abilities.
  • Proficiency in sales management tools S360, CRM software, and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to handle complex logistics challenges and develop innovative solutions.
  • Proven track record in managing large, complex customer accounts and achieving volume & revenue growth.
  • Experience in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in sales and business development, with specific experience in bulk liquid logistics.
