[What the role is] You could be an individual contributor or may lead a unit under the Strategy team to support the development of organisation-wide strategies, synchronise with corporate planning as well as ensure alignment and coordination within WSG and with MOM. This includes the following:[What you will be working on]Lead or support the Alliance for Action on Advancing Career & Employment Services (AfA-ACES) project to develop and pilot new career & employment services to support new work modelsStrong liaison skills to effectively engage MOM’s policy division which is co-leading AfA-ACEsProficiency to derive insights from applied research, drive coordination, planning and project management of pilotsEngage industry to participate as pilot owners and industry expertsManage funding contracts, arrangements and disbursementsEvaluate the outcomes of the pilots and develop post-pilot prototypes/new initiativesPerform secretariat duties as neededDevelop and implement new programmes and initiatives with industry partners to enable WSG to be an effective sector lead for career and employment services,Conceptualise new programmes and initiatives involving internal stakeholders and industry partnersSeek funding and resourcing to implement programmes and initiativesEngage and appoint industry partners to develop and implement programmes and initiativesManage funding arrangements and disbursementsEvaluate outcomes of programmes and initiativesManage International Relations for WSG, including assessment for strategic opportunities, building and maintaining connections with best-in-class public employment services and international entitiesSupport the development, coordination and review of whole-of-WSG strategies to drive productive reallocation of labourCompetencies in critical thinking, a general understanding of economics, and outcomes reporting, that will help to develop and establish the value and impact of workstreams under WSG’s multi-year strategy, WSG 2030, and report on its progressProficiency in coordinating and driving WSG’s overall efforts as a sector lead in the career and employment services sector to build career health of individuals and employersSupport Budget/COS materials and speeches, PQs, Cab Memo and management reports[What we are looking for]Knowledge/SkillsExcellent writing and communication skillsStrong analytical and critical thinking skills, and able to understand issues beyond the surfaceGood project management and problem-solving skillsHave a good theoretical understanding and application of principles and concepts in labour economicsHave a good understanding of public governance and its principlesSkills to derive data-driven insights and understand quantitative data would be preferredAptitudes/AbilitiesStrong interpersonal skills and able to engage external and internal stakeholdersPerceptive and able to problem-solve and work independentlyResourceful and pro-active in managing work assignmentsComfortable to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environmentOrganised, meticulous and detail oriented with an inquisitive mind that seeks to understand beyond the surfaceBe committed to the ethos of public serviceAll applicants will be notified on whether they are shortlisted or not within 4 weeks of the closing date of this job posting.
