Job Description:
  • Research and Develop Co-Curricular Learning Modules
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify the learning outcomes of co-curricular modules and the respective platforms to co-ordinate and deliver these outcomes.
  • Carry out comprehensive landscape studies/background research on proposed and assigned beyond-disciplinary topics.
  • Develop accurate and comprehensive content, and design engaging customised learning resources using a range of curriculum development software and tools.
  • Contribute relevant expertise and experience to the unit's aggregate competencies in curriculum development.
  • Regularly review the modules, analyse feedback and make recommendations for refinements and updates.
  • Implement SMU's Co-Curricular Learning Framework
  • Contribute to the planning and implementing all aspects of SMU's co-curricular learning framework - from generating and measuring student learning to evaluating and documenting student learning.
  • Facilitate the delivery of the SMU Graduate Learning Outcomes (GLOs) through the co-curricular learning framework.
  • Develop appropriate rubrics and metrics to assess student learning in the co-curricular.
  • Support the assessment of students' attainment of the SMU Graduate Learning Outcomes (GLOs) through their participation in a whole range of student organisations and activities.
  • Support the accurate documentation of students' learning and the timely generation of CCA Records.
  • Support in performing daily co-curricular management system-related operations, including performing troubleshooting on the system's infrastructure.
  • Collect, analyse and report on data pertaining to co-curricular learning.
  • Educate, familiarise and create awareness among internal stakeholders on the co-curricular learning framework and relevant processes.
  • Monitor and analyse stakeholder requirements to recommend changes for improved workflow and outcomes.
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of Co-Curricular Learning experiences
  • Co-ordinate programmes/activities/events at the department level, including (but not limited to) sustainability and student wellbeing initiatives.
  • Facilitate the delivery of the SMU Graduate Learning Outcomes (GLOs) through the programmes/activities/events organised at the department level.
  • Manage working relationships with other units, offices and external parties to the highest degree of professionalism.
  • Any other roles and responsibilities as assigned by the Reporting Officer.
Qualifications:
  • Degree in any discipline, with at least 4 years of relevant working experience.
  • Experience in education as a curriculum developer and/or instructor essential.
  • Familiar with pedagogical styles and assessment suited for pre-tertiary/tertiary learners.
  • Individuals who have some form of teaching experience will be of advantage.
  • Individuals who have experience in using curriculum development software will be of advantage.
  • Knowledge and experience in curriculum design (especially the co-curriculum) and implementation.
  • Knowledge of pedagogy and assessment of learning outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to do sound background research/landscape studies, write well, and create engaging resources.
  • Possess strong organisational, analytical and administrative capabilities.
  • Self-motivated with strong inter-personal and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Able to work synergistically, collaboratively as well as independently.
