- Act as a strong finance business partner to the ANZ Commercial leadership teams to execute short-term financial and longer-term strategic goals
- Drive performance and performance accountability with both commercial and non-commercial stakeholders. Drive Illumina’s growth agenda supported by our strategic chapters.
- Drive the annual and regular financial processes for the ANZ and other sub-regions to enable insights and advice to improve business understanding and business outcomes
- Be able to manage complexity and uncertainty. Make the complex understandable. Be able to drive a multi-disciplinary team to come to a constructive outcome or solution.
- Lead the creation/development of financial scenarios, including identifying risks and opportunities to drive ROI of deals/projects/programs and provide deal support while ensuring the day-to-day operations are seamless
- Be a strong communicator - prepare and present clear, concise, and relevant information that advance the dialogue and enable strong business decisions
- Analyze and interpret investment spend and performance, highlighting and understanding issues and opportunities with appropriate recommendations
- Manage performance reporting and produce specific reporting against strategic initiatives where required
- Drive improvements to the forecast and budget process to ensure forecast accuracy
- Produce ad-hoc analysis as required
- Be able to dive into the detail of performance and forecast while being able to summarize the analysis in a concise yet powerful way to senior mgmt
- Find the right balance between supporting and challenging business leaders.

- Drive innovation and pilot new approaches to drive revenue and/or profit in the mature ANZ region
- Support APAC Sr Finance Business Director in managing regional APAC projects and performance metrics. Act as a point of contact to Corporate Business Finance for ad hoc matters impacting the APAC region. Report and guide the progress on those asks and projects. Drive key steering committees in support of regional projects and performance drivers.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills required
- Proven ability to evaluate and solve complex problems and the strategic implications of different business approaches
- Can developed key relationships with important customers and suppliers.
- Demonstrated success in a similar business partner role
- Proven ability to evaluate the strategic implications of different business approaches and resolve complex arrangements
- Min. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance or Accounting (or equivalent). Master’s preferred
- Minimum 6-8 years of related experience, preferably in a high growth environment, or large organization (pharma, life science is a plus)
- Advance skills and experience with planning and analytics tools
- Strong knowledge of financial modelling and analysis, budgeting and forecasting, and Accounting Principals
- Experience in project management and/or data and performance metrics highly preferred
- Some travel expected to ANZ region
- Strong English skills are a must
- Other international financial certification is a plus
- Experience in Biotech / LifeSciences / Pharmaceuticals industries strongly preferred
