- Uphold rigorous standards in measurement, experimentation, analysis, and recommendations to ensure data integrity and objective decision-making.
- Lead the exploration of business/product opportunities, uncover insights, and identify areas for growth.
- Collaborate with the product and engineering teams to design and analyze experiments that influence key product decisions.
- Adapt in-production models to new markets to enhance product velocity.
- Direct expert teams to launch effective products/services and broaden Grab's data universe for deeper insights.
- Offer thought leadership and formulate data-driven hypotheses to address key Product/Business challenges.
- Create mixed effect and causal inference models to understand interaction effects or suboptimal product configurations.
- Establish and oversee anomaly detection systems to alert changes or anomalies in product or system metrics.
- Facilitate the development of analytics tools to assist data teams and other disciplines in debugging, data summarization, and result analysis.
- Support team members in their professional development, encompassing both technical and interpersonal skills.
- Foster a data-driven culture within the organization, promoting the use of analytics in decision-making processes.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in analytics and data science.
- Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Develop strategies for data collection, data governance, and data quality control.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in Analytics, Business Intelligence, or Software Engineering role. Prior experience in an Internet or 'Direct to Consumer' company dealing with large, complex, high-velocity data is highly desirable.
- A Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Data Science, Business Analytics, Industrial & Systems Engineering, Operations Research, Mathematics/Statistics, Transportation Engineering, or related technical disciplines is preferred.
- Proficiency in data query/manipulation using SQL and data visualization tools such as PowerBI.
- Solid foundation in Big Data technologies like Spark, PySpark.
- Strong statistical knowledge, preferably with practical experience in conducting controlled experiments in the industry.
- Experience in Product Management will be a significant advantage.
- Proven track record of using quantitative analysis to impact key business or product decisions.
- Experience in developing and implementing data strategies and policies.
- Effective communicator to both technical and business audiences.
- Passionate about solving problems - possesses a relentless need for investigation and data exploration.
- Results and detail-oriented, with strong intuitions on how to solve problems creatively and quickly.
- Self-Starter. Ability to work independently and drive own projects.
- Ability to deliver on tight timelines and move quickly with cross-functional teams to execute on decisions while maintaining attention to detail.
