[What the role is]
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Food Safety and Analysis Project Engineer to join our Food Safety Centre. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fundamental microbiology concepts, food safety practices, quality control, shelf-life validation and microbiological techniques. In this role, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, quality, and compliance of food products through rigorous analysis and adherence to regulatory standards.[What you will be working on]
  • Perform a variety of laboratory tests to assess the quality and safety of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products sent to the Centre
  • Utilize advanced analytical equipment to conduct microbiological and/ or chemical and physical tests on food samples.
  • Interpret test results and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders, recommending appropriate actions based on results.
  • Basic knowledge in ISO 17025 accreditation and requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of all testing activities, results, and corrective actions taken.
  • Generate detailed reports for internal use, regulatory compliance, and external audits.
  • Assist in preparing for and participating in regulatory inspections and audits.
  • Participate in feasibility studies and experiments to develop or validate innovative testing protocols and/ or methodologies.
  • Assist in provision of training and guidance on food safety, best practices, and relevant regulations to industry stakeholders.
[What we are looking for]
  • Proven experience in food safety, quality assurance, and analytical testing within the food industry.
  • Proficiency in microbiological, chemical, and physical testing methods and equipment.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of food safety regulations.
  • Attention to detail and analytical skills to interpret test results accurately.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and convey complex information clearly.
  • Certifications in food safety (e.g., HACCP, ISO17025, ISO 22000) are desirable.
