JOB DESCRIPTION:The role serves as a Business Human Resources Director in Established Pharmaceutical Division and manages the delivery of HR services to EPD APAC and China businesses. The business is fully integrated and as such the scope of the HR service in region covers Commercial, Operations and regional Business Development. The role acts as the face of the business to HR and the face of HR to the business. A key aspect of the role requires the HR Director to act as a liaison between the business and corporate HR (Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development and Compensation & Benefits). This role reports to the EPD Emerging Markets Business Unit Senior Human Resources Director.RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Works with regional leadership teams and affiliates to ensure accomplishment of long term and annual objectives
  • Determine the requirements of the business by performing needs assessments to diagnose human capital issues
  • Act as a broker between the needs of the business and corporate HR by developing solutions that support the long-range objectives of both
  • Establish, build and maintain strong relationships with key HR partners to ensure elements of HR are successfully coordinated to meet business needs
  • Proactively identify and address changes in the business landscape that impact human capital Issues (with strong focus on productivity, efficiency, capability building and talent development)
  • Help the business make the right decision by balancing business strategy and people strategy
  • Translate corporate HR strategic initiatives into actionable and tailored plans for the business
  • Build the organizational talent pipeline by planning and contributing to intentional developmental experiences (e.g., leadership, cross-functional, technical, and global perspective)

  • Demonstrated project management of multi country projects and KPI achievement
  • Evidence of successful HR Strategy development and implementation
  • Experience working in a multinational company
  • Experience living and working in Emerging Markets – ideally in Asia or other relevant markets
  • Strong business HR experience in a matrix organization
  • Experience in Commercial and Manufacturing. Exposure to functions such as Regulatory Affairs, Market Access, Medical a plus.
  • Able to demonstrate clear evidence/metrics ($$) of previous successes related to driving year on year improvement in people related topics (eg succession, diversity, efficiency, effectiveness, developing others…)
  • Experience in Pharmaceuticals (ideally Established Pharma) or Consumer Health
  • Experience of a senior Business HR role in a large affiliate and or region
  • Proven ability to partner with and influence senior leaders, challenging the status quo
Technical Knowledge
  • Demonstrated understanding of organizational development principles
  • Good working knowledge of all HR functional areas – ability to ask the right questions
  • Fluent English language skills are required, Mandarin a plus

  • Bachelor’s Degree (minimum)
  • Masters or MBA is a plus
