- A PhD in Accounting, specialising in Sustainability, Environmental Management, or a closely related field; alternatively, demonstrable extensive professional experience in sustainability reporting, carbon accounting, ESG assurance, or climate-related financial disclosures in a managerial capacity.
- Familiarity with recognised global standards and frameworks such as the GHG Protocol, ISSB Standards (IFRS S1 and S2), TCFD, and GRI.
- Proven ability to teach at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels in relevant subject areas, including but not limited to:
- Sustainability and Integrated Reporting
- ESG Performance Measurement
- Climate Risk and Carbon Footprint Analysis
- Corporate Accountability and Ethics
- A track record of publications, or clear pipelines, in peer-reviewed journals or professional outlets within the domains of sustainability reporting, carbon accounting, ESG, or climate disclosure.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the capacity to engage effectively with learners, colleagues, and industry partners.
- Willingness and ability to contribute to the design, review, and enhancement of curricula in accounting, sustainability, or ESG-related disciplines.
- For recent PhD graduates, relevant industry experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in applying tools such as life cycle analysis (LCA), carbon footprint calculators, and sustainability reporting platforms (e.g., CDP, SASB, GRESB).
- Familiarity with ASEAN, Asia-Pacific, or global carbon markets, regulatory frameworks, and corporate sustainability trends.
- Participation in professional dialogues, panels, or advisory roles related to ESG assurance, climate policy, or sustainability strategy.
- Membership or active involvement in relevant professional bodies, such as ISCA, AICPA, ICAEW, CPA Australia, CA ANZ, or accounting standards boards and working groups
