Infrastructure Support Engineer - Patching & Tech Upgrades

We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Support Engineer to manage and execute patching activities and technical upgrades across Operating Systems, Middleware, and Databases. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in infrastructure support, be proficient in Linux command-line operations, and capable of ensuring system stability during and after patching cycles.Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and execute patching and upgrade activities across OS, Middleware (MW), and Database (DB) environments.
  • Ensure timely patching of servers, coordinating with teams and escalating when necessary.
  • Utilize Linux command-line tools to check logs, identify errors, and monitor system health.
  • Provide guidance to application teams on patch-related impacts and pre/post-patching validation checks.
  • Run basic SQL queries to check database performance post-upgrade.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to ensure smooth patching operations and minimize downtime.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 4+ years of experience in infrastructure support, including patching and upgrades.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Linux systems and command-line operations.
  • Familiarity with log analysis and error tracing.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL for database performance verification.
  • Good understanding of OS, MW, and DB components in enterprise environments.
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate with cross-functional teams for patching schedules and troubleshooting.
Nice to Have
  • Experience with automation tools for patching and system monitoring.
  • Exposure to enterprise-grade middleware (e.g., WebLogic, JBoss) and database systems (e.g., Oracle, MySQL).
  • Knowledge of ITIL practices and change management processes.
