Key Responsibilities:Fleet Management: Oversee the technical performance, maintenance, and operational readiness of assigned bulk carriers.Planned Maintenance: Monitor and guide vessels' planned maintenance systems, ensuring proper execution of repairs and timely servicing.Dry-Docking & Repairs: Plan, budget, and supervise dry-docking, major repairs, and class surveys. Coordinate with shipyards, classification societies, and contractors to ensure quality and cost control.Technical Support: Provide prompt technical advice and troubleshooting support to vessel crews on machinery, hull, and structural issues.Regulatory Compliance: Ensure vessels comply with IMO, flag state, and classification society requirements, as well as internal safety and environmental standards.Budget Management: Prepare, monitor, and control vessel operating budgets, including spares, repairs, and dry-docking expenses.Procurement & Inventory: Oversee the sourcing of critical spares and equipment, working with procurement teams to ensure cost-effectiveness and timely delivery.Performance Monitoring: Track fuel efficiency, machinery performance, and hull condition to optimize operational performance and minimize downtime.Incident Investigation: Conduct root cause analyses of technical incidents and recommend preventive measures.Crew Coordination: Work with the crewing department to ensure engineering officers are trained, competent, and familiar with vessel systems.Reporting: Maintain accurate records, prepare reports, and ensure proper documentation of all technical operations.
