- Engage in material characterization metrology, including Ellipsometer Spectroscopic, Raman Spectroscopy, X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy, and Scanning Electron Microscopy.
- Collaborate on team focusing to support measurement focus on media Carbon overcoat characterization.
- Conduct material science lab testing, operate analytical instruments, and analyze thin film material properties.
- Provide technical and engineering support, contributing to the successful completion of complex analytical projects.
- You will gain hands-on experience in state-of-the-art material science technologies and methodologies.
- Develop skills in operating advanced laboratory instruments and in the analysis and characterization of materials.
- Learn to navigate and contribute to multidisciplinary projects, enhancing your collaborative and technical abilities.
- Material characterization techniques and their application in real-world scenarios.
- Developing and complex analytical projects from conception to completion.
- Effectively communicating and translating technical concepts to a diverse range of internal and external partners.
- A proactive self-starter, adaptable to dynamic environments.
- Ability to communicate engineering and technical concepts to internal and external partners.
- A team player, adept at collaborating with cross-functional and international teams.
- Able to commit a credit bearing internship from July to December
- Currently pursuing bachelor’s degree in Material Science, Physics, or a related field.
- Foundational knowledge in thin film material characterization techniques.
- Familiarity with analytical lab instruments and statistical analysis is an advantage.
- Experience in programming languages (e.g., MATLAB, Python, SQL, JMP) and proficiency in data analysis and Six Sigma methodologies is preferred.
