This team aims to enhance our economic policy analysis through advanced data science techniques. As a Data Scientist, you will work closely with economists to develop and implement innovative analytical approaches that influence Singapore's monetary policy and financial stability frameworks.Key ResponsibilitiesSpearhead the application of data science methodologies to support monetary policy and financial stability analysisPartner with economists to transform policy questions into structured analytical solutionsUndertake rigorous empirical research integrating economic principles with advanced analytical methodsAuthor policy papers and research publications that communicate technical findings to diverse stakeholdersDesign and maintain analytical frameworks for monitoring monetary policy and financial stability indicatorsProvide technical expertise in the interpretation of economic data using modern statistical and machine learning approaches[What we are looking for]Preferred Qualifications & ExperienceAdvanced degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, or related quantitative disciplinesMinimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in applied data scienceDemonstrated track record in policy research and analysisStrong foundation in economic and financial data analysisUnderstanding of monetary policy and financial stability frameworksExperience in central banking or finance would be an advantageResearch publications in economics or data science would be an advantageTechnical CompetenciesStrong proficiency in programming languages for data analysis (Python, R, or equivalent)Expertise in machine learning, statistical modelling, and econometricsAdvanced capabilities in time series analysis and forecastingProficiency in handling large datasets, data engineering and database managementKnowledge of natural language processing and Generative AICore CompetenciesStrong analytical and problem-solving capabilitiesExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiencesProven project management and delivery capabilitiesAbility to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teamsIntellectual curiosity and commitment to continuous learningStrategic thinking and ability to align technical solutions with policy objectivesThis is a 1-years contract position.
