What the role is:The Gambling Regulatory Authority (GRA) was reconstituted from the Casino Regulatory Authority (CRA) on 1 August 2022. GRA is a statutory board under the Ministry of Home Affairs and is responsible for regulating the gambling landscape in Singapore. We protect the people by keeping gambling honest and free of criminal influence, and minimising the harm from gambling. We strive to be a trusted and agile gambling regulator for a safe Singapore.What you will be working on:The Investigations and Prohibitions Division of GRA conducts investigation into regulatory offences, and breaches stipulated in the Casino Control Act (CCA), Gambling Control Act (GCA) and its subsidiary legislations. Your work will enable you to gain valuable insights into the operations of the various licensees and key aspects of the regulatory role that GRA performs. You will have opportunities to be rotated to other areas of work within GRA, as part of your development as a gambling regulator. You will report to the Senior Assistant Director (Regulatory Investigations) and be part of a team responsible for the following duties: * Plan, strategise and conduct investigations into reports of offences, regulatory breaches and forfeiture of winnings as stipulated under the CCA, GCA and its subsidiary legislations. * Work closely with relevant GRA Divisions and external strategic partners to make appropriate recommendations on such investigations, on prosecutions and disciplinary actions to be taken. * Engage in the disciplinary and prosecutorial processes. * Assist in the development and formulation of investigation policies and enforcement framework. * Contribute towards the development and review of work processes, IT systems and other ad hoc projects to enhance capabilities and optimise investigation processes.What we are looking for:
  • Analytical, adaptable, resourceful, and inquisitive * Strong communication and inter-personal skills * Ability to work independently as well as in a team * Experience in a regulatory/enforcement environment is preferred but not essential
