- Develop and implement business strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Identify growth opportunities, new markets, and operational improvements.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies and relevant regulations.
- Develop and implement succession planning provides an environment for developing and motivating others and building effective teams.
- Monitor P&L and ensure profitability and cost-efficiency.
- Monitor and measure financial outcomes and productivity against targets and identify and implement corrective actions to address any gaps.
- Seek out opportunities for continuous improvement with a focus on cost reduction.
- Lead and motivate department heads and key staff.
- Build and sustain a strong, collaborative workplace culture.
- Oversee talent development, training, and succession planning.
- Role model the values and behaviours: Lead by example, holding team to account on their behaviour and key objectives, enabling effective collaboration between teams.
- Ensure all staff are trained to operate all machinery/equipment and understand the Company’s warehouse work systems.
- Ensure effective day-to-day operations across all departments.
- Oversee logistics, supply chain, and service delivery as relevant.
- Drive operational efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage the operation within agreed contractual parameters to deliver quality customer service.
- Build strong relationships with customers, vendors, and partners.
- Act as the face of the business in external meetings, events, and negotiations.
- Collaborate closely with corporate and regional leadership.
- 5 years plus experience in a similar role, within a 3PL and/or 4PL environment.
- Qualifications in Logistics Management or a relevant business discipline.
- Experience leading a large team.
- Development and effective implementation of financial budgets, targets and reporting.
- Management of customer relationships and resolution of issues.
- Experience in working within regulatory frameworks.
- Strong understanding of profit and loss and balance sheets.
- Proven history of cost control and improvement.
- Experience in managing cold chain logistics and/or food supply chain will be an added advantage.
