Your profile / requirements
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences or a related field
  • Further education or certifications in digitalization, automation, or project management (e.g., PMP, Agile) are a plus
  • 3- 5 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, with a focus on API production, process operations, or digital manufacturing transformation
  • Strong understanding of API development workflows, including process scale-up, technology transfer, and batch production
  • Experience implementing or managing digital manufacturing technologies, such as MES, PAT, SCADA/DCS, or automation systems in GMP environments
  • Familiarity with system integration, connecting platforms like MES, ERP, PAT, and data historians for improved data flow and process control
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards relevant to API manufacturing (e.g., ICH Q7, Q8, Q11) and experience ensuring digital solutions meet GxP compliance
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical and operational needs into scalable digital solutions
  • Experience with data-driven process optimization, performance analytics, or process modeling
  • Familiarity with modeling tools such as AnyLogic©, Python, or Aspen is an advantage, but not mandatory
  • Proficient in leading projects using traditional (Waterfall) and Agile project management methodologies
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with experience working across science, IT, QA, and business teams
  • Skilled in facilitating workshops, conducting stakeholder interviews, and delivering clear, actionable presentations
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving mindset, and a proactive, hands-on approach
  • Adaptable to changing project landscapes, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and propose structured solutions
  • Effective team player, able to thrive in multicultural, cross-functional, and remote collaboration settings
Tasks and responsibilities
  • Lead and manage digital manufacturing projects in API development and production, ensuring timely, high-quality delivery
  • Act as a subject matter expert in digital manufacturing technologies (e.g., MES, PAT, SCADA, automation) across the pharmaceutical value chain
  • Assess and implement emerging technologies such as IoT, digital twins, and advanced analytics to drive process efficiency and innovation
  • Support digitalization across API workflows, including synthesis, scale-up, and tech transfer in both development and GMP environments
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to optimize manufacturing processes and translate requirements into scalable digital solutions
  • Drive system integration to enhance visibility, control, and data flow across production environments
  • Ensure compliance with GxP and regulatory requirements in all digital solutions
  • Build strong client relationships and facilitate workshops, stakeholder meetings, and technical discussions
  • Contribute to internal capability development and support business development through opportunity identification
