Shaw-NKF-NUH Children's Kidney provides in and outpatient renal replacement therapy services for children up to 18 years old.The services included:
- Haemodialysis
- Peritoneal Dialysis
1. Haemodialysis (HD)
1.1 Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of HD in relation to patients who come to the centre for treatment.
1.2 Demonstrate proficiency in the delivery of care to patients undergoing HD.
1.3 Demonstrate proficiency in the accurate assessment and management of patients with different vascular access undergoing HD.
1.4 Demonstrate the ability to accurately identify and handle complication of patients undergoing HD.
1.5 Demonstrate proficiency in managing quality assurance of dialysis water in accordance with hospital / guidelines.
1.6 Provide education to individual HD patients and caregivers about the care of vascular access and self- management.2. Peritoneal Dialysis (PD)
2.1 Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of PD in relation to patients who come to the centre for treatment.
2.2 Demonstrate proficiency in the delivery of care to patients undergoing PD.
2.3 Demonstrate the ability to accurately identify and handle complication of patients undergoing PD.
2.4 Provide specialized PD training and assessment to individual patient and their caregivers to enable them to handle PD independently at home.
2.5 Perform home visits post APD training or when necessary.
2.6 Perform PD retraining, at least yearly for the PD patients' cohort.Specific Competencies:

1.3 Care of Tunneled / Non-tunneled Catheter for Haemodialysis
1.4 Care of AVF / AVG for Haemodialysis

1.6 Setting Up and Initiation of Automated Peritoneal Dialysis Machine
1.7 Termination of Automated Peritoneal Dialysis Machine
