[What the role is] Most Positive Workplace Collaboration Award – Singapore International Chamber of Commerce (SICC) Awards 2025Ranked #19 for The Straits Times Singapore’s Best Employers 2024 & 2025The Department of Student Development (SD) aspires to provide all SP students with a positive Polytechnic experience through quality learning and development beyond the curriculum.Managing the Sports & Wellness portfolio, the appointee will oversee the planning and implementation of key student development programmes in Sports Excellence, Wellness for Life (WFL) and Sports Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) clubs. The role includes driving strategic initiatives, managing programme operations, guiding staff and instructors and fostering collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.[What you will be working on]Responsibilities:-Sports Excellence
  • Develop and implement mid to long-term strategies to enhance student-athlete development in line with the SP Holistic Education Framework.
  • Oversee the Sports Excellence framework, including coach management, athlete tracking and values-based programme implementation.
  • Coordinate and oversee SP’s participation in and hosting of competitions such as POL-ITE and IVP and represent SP on IHL councils.
  • Manage procurement and performance of coaches (e.g. ITQs, renewals, briefings, evaluations).
  • Administer sports scholarships including shortlisting of recipients, conducting interviews and coordinating recognition efforts.
  • Support CCA officers in governance, budgeting and programme execution.
  • Oversee the booking, usage and maintenance coordination of SP’s sports facilities to support training, competitions and student activities.
Wellness for Life (WFL)
  • Oversee the end-to-end delivery of WFL modules from PFP to Year 3, including curriculum rollout, Brightspace setup, coaches/instructor deployment and results processing.
  • Liaise with Schools on course registration, timetabling and exemption requests.
  • Ensure safety and compliance, including risk assessments, attendance tracking and incident handling.
  • Monitor programme outcomes (e.g. feedback, pass rates) and propose enhancements.
  • Prepare WFL data and reports for department/institutional review and collaborate with wellness partners to ensure content relevance.
Co-Curricular Activities (CCA) Club Management
  • Plan and guide the Sports CCA cluster, including club direction, budget planning, and governance.
  • Conduct succession planning for 3–4 clubs annually, mentor student leaders and align club activities with SD’s development framework.
  • Facilitate administration including proposals, risk assessments, CCA points processing, budgeting, reviews, and conflict resolution.
  • Lead 1–2 overseas student trips annually.
  • Raise ITQs/renewals for coaches/instructors and work closely with them to enhance students’ development and club performance.
[What we are looking for]Requirements:-
  • At least 5 years of relevant working experience, preferably in education, sports management or youth development.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage student CCAs, sports programmes, and large-scale wellness initiatives.
  • Familiarity with curriculum-based programs or academic processes is an advantage.
  • Strong administrative skills with some finance and procurement experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present ideas and proposals to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Meticulous, organised and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
Successful candidate will be offered a 2-year contract in the first instance.
