[What the role is] We seek a dynamic individual to join our Innovation Programmes and Spaces unit as an Innovation & Enterprise (I&E) Academic Staff. In this role, you will manage MakerSpace, support the integration of I&E into diploma curricula, and collaborate with schools to co-design impactful learning experiences. You will also coordinate innovation-related events and projects, serve as Secretariat for I&E Committees, ensure operational and safety compliance, and mentor team members to strengthen innovation capabilities across the institution.[What you will be working on]
  • Manage and oversee MakerSpace operations, including resource planning, space development, and alignment with institutional innovation goals.
  • Lead the integration of Innovation & Enterprise (I&E) into diploma curricula by collaborating with schools’ staff to co-design structured learning experiences, aligned with Life Skills Framework. Contribute to teaching as required.
  • Coordinate and support innovation events, showcases, and strategic projects involving internal stakeholders.
  • Serve as Secretariat for I&E Committees, driving agenda-setting, documentation, and follow-up actions.
  • Ensure safety and risk compliance across innovation spaces, supporting audits and maintaining operational standards.
  • Mentor team members and drive capability development to enhance innovation delivery across Nanyang Polytechnic.
[What we are looking for]
  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Experience in curriculum design and programme/workshop development.
  • Hands-on experience in using and managing makerspace tools and technologies (e.g. 3D printers, laser engravers, sewing machines, and related equipment).
  • Strategic thinking and analytical ability to evaluate outcomes, guide resource planning, and improve programme effectiveness.
  • Effective stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills across departments and external partners.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to guide staff, influence stakeholders, and represent CILS in institutional initiatives.
