In your new role you will:
- Understand the key components in EMCs and their functions
- Literature search on failure mechanism for corrosion and electrical drift linked to EMCs
- Define and use simplified model EMC system to study key ingredients in epoxy system, e.g. adhesion promoter & others, and its impact on corrosion and electrical drift of package
- Define relevant characterization methods and experiments (e.g. ion analyser, impedance spectroscopy, SEM etc.) to verify the root causes of corrosion and drift.
- Propose and test hypothesis on the impact of different ingredients on corrosion and electrical drift performance
- Develop failure mechanism for corrosion and electrical drift linked to EMCs
You are best equipped for this task if you have:
- Singaporean Citizen or Permanent Resident at the time of application
- Be eligible for full-time PhD studies
- Have an interest in polymer packaging materials for IC packaging
- Knowledge in power semiconductor application
