What the role is:We are seeking an experienced OpenStack Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our Red Hat OpenStack-based cloud infrastructure. This role involves working with cutting-edge technologies, optimising cloud environments, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust and scalable solutions.What you will be working on:Key Responsibilities include:Design, implement, and maintain Red Hat OpenStack-based cloud infrastructure solutionsDevelop and optimise automation scripts for deployment and management of OpenStack environmentsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate OpenStack with other systems, including Kubernetes and OpenShiftTroubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to OpenStack components and underlying infrastructureImplement security best practices and ensure compliance with organisational policiesContribute to capacity planning, performance optimisation, and scalability of OpenStack environmentsAssist in change management of OpenStack platform for new versions Hotfixes, SysAdmin tasks, etc.Works with experienced team members to conduct root cause analysis of issues, review new and existing code and/or perform unit testing.Authors/edits system documentation/playbook(s)May serve as a mentor on procedural matters to less experienced internal and third-party team membersWhat we are looking for:Relevant university degree with at least 5 + years of relevant working experience.Expertise with RedHat or any OpenStack Platform.Expertise with Kubernetes.Expertise in RedHat Linux administrationExperience in Infrastructure provisioning with VMware ESX enviornment, monitoring with Prometheus and OpsExperience intergrating with Elastic stack.Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, high demand environmentRedHat / OpenStack certifications in Linux and OpenStack administration preferred.Excellent oral and written communication skillsExperience working with infrastructure as code technologies such as Terraform is preferred.Demonstrates strong customer service awareness and orientationAbility to establish new standards for quality, performance or productivityMust have excellent writing and communication skills, strong communicator with ability to maintain open communication with internal employees, contractors, managers, 3rd parties, and customers as neededAdditionally, understanding application development lifecycles as well practical experience in working with continuous integration and continuous deployment tools as part of the OpenStack platform lifecycle will be useful.Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilitiesExcellent project management and organisational skillsOutstanding written and verbal communication abilitiesProven leadership experience in technical environmentsAbility to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple prioritiesStrong service-oriented mindset with focus on operational excellenceAs part of the shortlisting process for this role, you may be required to complete a medical declaration and/or undergo further assessment.This will be a 2-year contract.
